Not Goodbye, but a See You Soon

there's one thing about friendships and military life that always sucks,

MOVING

theres simply no way around it.
At some point the people we build these awesome friendships with have to move away.

How do you explain to your toddler that their best friend is moving to a new place and they won't see them for a little while?
they don't REALLY understand at this age.
With time they will be able to move forward but it doesn't change the fact that they're losing someone close.

I remember when we moved here.
We were stuck living in a hotel waiting for the phone call saying we have a house to offer you.
The call came on a friday and we had until Monday to accept or decline the offer. Of course I was overly anxious to see the house offered so I got my husband up, grabbed the little and made our way around searching for what could potentially be our new home.
There was a family still living in the home so we couldn't see the inside yet, but I told my husband call back and tell them WE ACCEPT!
Flash forward a month and it was time to sign all the papers and make it official. After all of the signing we decided to pop by the house now that it was empty in the hopes to get a peek of the inside. Our new neighbor just happened to be outside cleaning the grill and saw us snooping LOL

We quickly explained we were his new neighbors moving in the following week, and he's like "Y'all want to see inside of mine?" "It's the same exact set up." we quickly say yes. It was then I think we knew we had some good neighbors, and it wasn't long before we met the rest of his family.

They say God places people in our lives for a reason.
there is a reason he put you all in ours.

I'm sad to see an empty house and yard.
I'm sad there won't be anymore play dates and boiled peanuts. (don't knock it til you try it)
I'm sad there won't be anymore bbq days and kids running around screaming at the top of their lungs.

But i'm happy for you and your new journey.
It may be a familiar one, but it's still new.
Most importantly i'm happy we have a place to visit when ever we roll through your town.

"good friends never say goodbye
they simply say see you soon."

Family Walk | Visual Storytelling

It feels weird typing blogs again. it's been a little while since I shared my last one.
There has been so much going on, that I had to stop, sit back, and take a panoramic view of MY life.

After a few weeks of chill time I decided to take on a new journey with an online photography class called Visual Storytelling..
What an eye opening journey that has been. seeing what I thought i wanted to do. To seeing what I really want to do and how to go about achieving it. It has made for a new outlook on the way I choose to go about DOCUMENTING life.

So what better way to practice the new tools I've learned than with my own family.
I had us go for a family walk to the beach. I have to say it was quite the experience photographing, as well as having a busy little running all over the place. Needless to say it was a beautiful day out & i'm happy I picked up my camera that day
