Morning session with Babe | 02.26.15

Yesterday morning started as usual. You waking me up at 8 with your fussing, hollering for your "Milk!".
You then went back to sleep for 15 min and woke up saying "mom! i'm hungry"
so we got up & made our way to the kitchen. Normally I'll let you eat Cheerios or cook you something. But while in the store a few days ago you noticed a BIG box of Lucky Charms on a shelf & I noticed that the price wasn't TOO outrageous so I said what they hey and bought the box.
Little did i know what I was getting myself into. Now Lucky Charms is your "go to" for breakfast.
If only you would eat the entire bowl and not JUST the marshmallows
But I guess thats the standard eating process for a child who loves a bowl of Lucky Charms.

and yesterday morning you sure didn't disappoint. You spilled them,
EVERYWHERE! (laughing out LOUD!)
I had most of it cleaned up before the lightbulb went off in my head saying, "why are you not capturing this moment?"
normally i would have fussed, cleaned it up, and said "Okay, You're DONE."
..But I just went with it.

and well,
for the rest of the morning,
I just went with it.

from now on I plan to just go with it.

Love you wild One <3

Letters To Our Sons || Vol 3

wild Little,
I wish you were old enough to remember all of the things we've been doing this month. It's a good thing mom has been photographing as much of it as she can. This month was an awesome one! We came back to WA state because mommy photographed Mrs.Kelley's birth story.
This isn't your first rodeo when it comes to flying but it was the first time flying with just mommy (:
It made for a special yet challenging experience for the both of us.
I think your favorite part was running around the air terminal saying "Hi!" to everyone and showing them your moves from "snowman". (Frozen)
My favorite part was when you were looking out of the window curious about everything. You're finally at an age now where everything peaks your interest and I just love watching you grow. (:

I have to say it's pretty funny that we've managed to do more now than we ever did living here. Looking back I wish we would have got up and just went somewhere. Just to see what all this island had to offer. Coming from San Diego mommy was somewhat closed minded and judgmental about living here and how small it was. But since being back I pay attention to the scenery when we go for a drive &  I make sure we get out and enjoy watching the sun set. We've even been to parts of WA that mom had no idea existed.
Uncle Nick and Zack took us to the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim. We took the ferry to Port Townsend and while you've been on the ferry before, you experienced it completely different this time. You loved seeing the little boats in the distance and making friends on the ferry.
The drive up was so beautiful and your little eyes followed every tree and bird you could see while you sang the entire Frozen album the whole way there.
and Although you were terrified when the Llama, Yak, and Bison came to the window for some bread, it was the best experience ever!

I had mentioned that we had never been to Mt.Erie while we lived here. So on Valentine's day we hopped in the truck and went with Auntie Jess & Bev to the mountain top. It was such a BEAUTIFUL view!
Except you threw an unbelievable fit because you didn't get to finish your little nap. There wasn't enough fruit snacks and goldfish to put a smile on your face. But we made due and went on about our evening.
In the end I think you enjoyed it.

Even though you probably won't remember any of this trip I sure hope you had fun seeing all of your friends and WA family. In just a couple of weeks we'll be on another plane headed to our next adventure.
and i'll be sure to have my camera ready.

I LOVE YOU BUBBA MAN!

Thank you for stopping by and reading! Please head over to Courtney's blog to read her letter

Miss Hadley Jane | Seattle Birth Photographer

Everything about this birth story was very special to me. Mama and I have been friends for some years now and we have always talked about whenever she became pregnant that I would photograph her birth story. So it was the best day when she called to tell me that she was expecting.

There was a bit of uncertantiy throughout her pregnancy on whether or not I'd actually be able to make it because we no longer lived in the same place. As mama's due date got closer the more unsettled she and I became. I felt I surely wasn't going to be there for her as I had promised. Luckily I ended finding a flight and booked it. Then a week before her due date my husband found a cheaper flight and told me to pack my bags as I only had a few hours before I had to get to the airport. Little did mama know, but I was arriving sooner than what she thought.

Talk about a SURPRISE! she almost cried!
It was finally game time to get this baby out!
(not really, we all know babies make their own agenda)

A week went by and into the wee hours of babes dude date, mama sent the text saying "I'm officially admitted!"
I told mama to labor peacefully and to call me when she was 4-5cm so I could head her way. Got a phone call from dad saying she was about 6-7cm! Freaking out, I grabbed all of my gear and hurried down to the hospital.
I made it just in time to see little Miss Hadley come earth side.

There is NOTHING else on the planet quite like witnessing a mama give birth.
watching mom and dad fall in love all over again.
falling in love with this new little life, completely smitten.
& there is nothing like being asked to tell the story.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HADLEY JANE <3
